The City Colleges Reinvention initiative is all about ensuring student success: in the classroom and the workplace. CCC faculty, staff and students first came together in 2010 to begin improving all aspects of City Colleges. Last year, the reform effort introduced a major new phase with the launch of the new, college-based Reinvention7 task forces. There are opportunities both at the District Office and at your college for you to be a part of the change that’s moving City Colleges forward.
Want to get involved? Submit your application to join a Reinvention task force in Fall 2014 by Friday, April 11. Click here to learn more.
As you may know, CCC has partnered with Akademos, an online bookstore provider, to bring the efficiency and cost savings of an online bookstore to every City Colleges of Chicago student. The CCC Online Bookstore, powered by Textbookx, the Akademos bookselling platform, will launch to provide students their assigned textbooks for the Summer 2014 semester and beyond, and will replace all other on-site bookstore vendors at CCC.
The CCC Online Bookstore will provide every CCC student a large inventory of high quality, low-cost textbooks with the ease only the internet can provide, including:
In addition to student benefits, faculty will be able to use the Textbookx platform to search, compare, adopt and review textbooks, and even create custom course materials and study guides. More information about these services will be provided to faculty in the coming months.
More information about the new CCC Online Bookstore is coming soon.
